Only a group of vanlifers could turn an empty hay field into a magical weekend. Summer thunderstorms rolled through every 12 hours, but never dampened the music or the campfires.
Huge thanks to @gnomad_home and @vanlifediaries for putting together a fabulous #vanlifemeetup this past weekend in Missouri! It was incredible to finally meet the faces of our online friends and it’s OK if we all only remember our Instagram handles and not our real names 😉
Other lessons learned: music is more fun with friends by the campfire; when the storms roll in, @alwaystheroad’s rig is THE place to hang out; @drawn_there’s giveaway sketch turned out awesome; don’t spin your wheels once you’re stuck in the mud; #syncro vans can pull a Sprinter out of the mud; and once you’re out, don’t let off the gas!
Make sure to tag a friend you spy in the photos or that should have been here! PS. There may be some footage of this event coming soon to @cbssundaymorning Stay tuned!
After a great three weeks exploring, we did a full reorganizing of everything in the van. Mitch's only way to organize is to take everything out and start again. Luckily we had his parents driveway to fill with all our stuff. How it's is that we still have way too many things after downsizing to life in a van? We threw away a few things and decided to keep several items at Mitch's parents while we travel. Hopefully our new setup will suit us better for our next journey. 🚐
