It’s a little gloomy out today and I can’t stop thinking about this delicious vegan banana bread I made before the holidays! 😍👌🏼 I’m doing another #5daydetox so naturally I can’t have treats like these for now, but a girl can dream right? 🙃🤷🏼‍♀️ What are your post-holiday winter cravings?! 😜 ••• Recipe Ingredients: - 1/3 cup melted virgin coconut oil - 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup - 2 eggs (option to make chia or flax eggs) - 2 or 2.5 bananas, mashed 🍌 - 1/4 cup unsweetened almond milk or water - 1 tsp baking soda - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon - 1 3/4 cups whole wheat flour - *Optional: 1/2 cup @enjoylifefoods vegan chocolate chips or nuts! ••• Instructions: - Preheat oven to 325 - Mix honey and oil together in a large bowl 🍯 - Add eggs and beat well; add mashed bananas and almond milk 🍌🥛 - Add baking soda, vanilla, salt, and cinnamon and combine; then slowly add in flour—mix until fully combined and smooth - Mix in optional chocolate chips etc! 🍫 - Pour into greased bread loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes 🍞 💥ENJOY!💥 ••• . . . #health #wellness #nutrition #foodie #fitness #fitfam #tastytreats #healthyeats #treatyoself #vegan #dairyfree #bananabread #enjoylife #balance #desserts #lifestyle #inspirehealth #recipes #bewelldaily #kalemepretty #livewell #healthylifestyle

One of my favorite healthy breakfasts: @toneitupnutrition perfect fit protein pancakes! 🥞😍. Topped with blueberries, bananas 🍌, cinnamon, and a light drizzle of honey 🍯. These are made with egg whites + bananas + perfect fit vanilla protein + almond milk + cinnamon + ground flax seed (I add this in to the original recipe!). Made this delicious stuffed bell pepper for dinner the other night and I can’t stop thinking about how filling & delicious it was—thanks @whole30😍! Seriously love the recipes from my @whole30 book. This one is packed with protein to keep you full, without any carbs and excess sugars (great for the @toneitup #5daydetox)! 👌🏼 Want the recipe but don’t have the book? See below! ⤵️😉 ••• Ingredients: - 3 or 4 red, yellow, or orange bell peppers 🌶 - 3 tbsp cooking fat (I used clarified ghee / butter from @traderjoes ) - ¼ cup finely chopped onion - 2 cloves garlic, minced - 4 leaves kale (I added several handfuls + spinach) 🌿 - 1 pound ground beef or turkey (96% - 99% lean) - 2 tbsp tomato paste (can’t even taste it—and I hate tomatoes) 🍅 - ¼ tsp cumin - ¼ tsp chili powder - ½ tsp salt - ¼ tsp black pepper - 1 cup finely peeled winter squash (I used Butternut Squash) - 1 Avocado 🥑 ••• Instructions: - Preheat oven to 350 degrees; line a baking sheet with parchment or wax paper - *Slice around the top of each bell pepper and pull out the stem; shake out any seeds; place on baking sheet - Bake for 10 minutes and set aside - Melt the butter in a large pan or skillet and add the onions; cook until clear about 3 minutes - Add minced garlic, and cook for 1 more minute - Add the kale, spinach and any other leafy greens and cook for about 1 minute - Add ground beef (to same skillet) and cook for 7 minutes, while breaking it apart with spoon or spatula - Add squash + any other veggies and add spices; mix together and cook for another 5 minutes (give or take) - Divide the meat / veggie mixture into the bell peppers evenly and place in the oven for another 10 minutes — *If your peppers won’t stand up, slice off the bottom slightly (so there is still a base of pepper), to help balance **I added 1/4 avocado and extra cayenne pepper for some extra flavor!** 🥑 ENJOY!💥 ••• . . . #health #fitness #nutrition #wellness #wellbeing #foodie #fitfam #detox #5daydetox #whole30 #eatcleangetlean #newyear #intentions #cleanse #backtobalance #nutritiousanddelicious #dairyfree #grainfree #inspirehealth #healthyrecipe #healthylifestyle #bewelldaily #kalemepretty #livewell

Happy hump day friends! 🐪 Today is my first day back at work and yoga training after a wonderful visit home in Santa Barbara (can I go back yet?), but I’m ready to take on the day head strong! 🤗. During my walk to my workout early this morning, I scrolled my insta feed and found this from @advicefroma20something and it completely resonated with me. In case I haven’t expressed this yet: I am so hard on myself and have expectations of the way I look, feel, and do, in all aspects of life. Something I’ve been working on is giving myself “a break” and trying to not be SO hard on myself. Life should be about the journey, and not just the destination. So—as we dive into the new year, I’ll be working to train my mind to be more self-compassionate. 💕. Anyone else struggle with this? Join me in this 2018 intention! Last night, I taught part of a Community Class for my @corepoweryoga Yoga Sculpt Extensions Program! I was incredibly nervous + anxious all day long, had a panic attack before class, and was so scared of forgetting the sequence or not being good enough. As I’ve talked about before, self-confidence is not my strong point at all, but I pushed on, didn’t give up, and successfully taught a group of yogis a portion of Sculpt. 🧘‍♀️ After class, I still felt anxious but also so excited and eager to learn + practice + teach more. The roller coaster of emotions I felt yesterday was insane, but the experience and end game of it all is something I wouldn’t trade for the world. 🌎 There will be more Community Classes I teach along with my amazing friends / teachers in January, and I’m sure the waive of emotions will be just as present, but that’s okay. ✨ It’s a process, and I’m learning so much, pushing myself WAY out of my comfort zone, and feeling grateful for the endless opportunities and the supportive family, friends, and CPY community. Words can’t explain how I feel right now. I’m not one to talk about myself, and as I’ve mentioned I struggle with self-confidence immensely, but here goes. Diving into the CorePower Yoga Yoga Sculpt Teacher Training program was so foreign and scary to me. That first intensive weekend, I remember being so close to quitting because for me, it was SO hard. But I pushed on (huge shoutout & thanks to @emilyydowns + @nicolehyslop + my mom). And I know I still have a long way to go, and need to continue pushing myself out of my comfort zone, but I’m happy to say I’ve successfully completed the five week YSTT program! 🧘‍♀️🤗. I’m so grateful to have met such an incredible community of human beings through @corepoweryoga and I am excited to embark on the next chapter of this journey with the TT Extensions program. Made a delicious green smoothie for a late lunch yesterday—filled with flavor + greens + tropical fruits + protein + fiber. 🙌🏼💥 This one is great for refueling, and to help make your skin glow ✨🙃. Recipe below! ••• Ingredients: - 1 cup unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk 🥛 - 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Perfect Fit by @toneitup @toneitupnutrition 🤗) - 2 cups organic kale 🌱 - 4 pieces @traderjoes frozen coconut pieces 🥥 (or 1 tbsp unsweetened coconut shreds) - 1 small frozen banana 🍌 - 1/4 cup fresh or frozen pineapple 🍍 - 1/4 fresh or frozen mango - 1 tsp fresh or powdered / ground ginger - 1/4 tsp cardamom —> *Blend all ingredients together until smooth (I started by blend my just the almond milk + kale, then added everything else and used the smoothie preset on my @vitamix 👍🏼). Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies 🍪🤗. These are my current obsession because they’re filled with protein and taste delicious! Fall sure is in the air! ⛅️🍂After a long run yesterday, I was inspired to meal prep and created this colorful & delicious salad! 🥗 Details below! ⤵️🧡 Remember, you can add more or less of any ingredient to customize it for your taste buds! 🙃👌🏼 ••• Ingredients (Makes about 3-4 salads): - 1 large sweet potato (or 2 small-medium) 🍠 - 1 can of organic chickpeas - 6 cups organic kale + spinach 🍃 - 1/3 cup pomegranate seeds - 1/3 cup slivered almonds - 1/2 cup pecans - 1/2 cup organic cooked quinoa - 1 avocado 🥑 ••• Instructions: - Dice up sweet potatoes, and mix with a dash of olive oil + herbs de Provence + salt + pepper. Then roast sweet potatoes in oven at 350 degrees until fully cooked - Drain, rinse, and dry @traderjoes organic garbanzo beans (chickpeas). Then mix with desired seasonings (I used smoked paprika + salt + pepper + oregano) & olive oil! Next, roast in the oven at 350 degrees until semi-crispy. **You can roast both veggies in a tray pan at the same time! Approximately 25 minutes.
