When communities work together, everyone benefits. Today the City of Moline Public Works department had the pleasure of hosting “Flood Fight Training for the Municipal Employee” presented by the Army Corps of Engineers. Training included preparedness, flood forecasting, temporary barriers and hands on demonstrations. Thank you to the 61 municipal employees from neighboring communities along the Mississippi and Rock Rivers who attended – Scott County, Clinton County, Henry County, Rock Island County, Whiteside County, Rock Island Arsenal, City of Muscatine, City of Rock Island, City of Bettendorf, City of Davenport, City of East Moline, Blackhawk Township and the Villages of Milan and Andalusia! #molinepublicworks#cityofmoline#floodtraining#communitiesworkingtogether
We finally have a side by side glimpse of the new I-74 bridge next to the current I-74 bridge!! You can get an idea of the amazing height difference. The current bridge sits a little over 159 feet above the water and the new bridge will sit about 242 feet above water. That is a staggering 83 feet difference! Who's excited? We sure are!
