Don’t get into fitness to lose weight! Wait, what? Yeah, I said that. Yeah losing weight is a good overall goal to have but I don’t personally think it’s a good overall reason to get into fitness. Why?? Because losing weight takes so much time when you do it correctly and it’s easy to get down on yourself and disappointed in your journey. Also, scales suck. There’s SO many things that factor into your weight. Are you bloating today? Are you gaining muscle? Is it in the morning or at night? Was it carb day? (Yesterday I ate 100 things because I was meal prepping and had to try everything I was making...duh) If it were up to me scales would not be in homes at all💁🏽‍♀️ . .. So why work out if it’s not about losing weight?? Well dang I’m glad you asked!! Let’s talk about increased energy levels, sky rocketed confidence, overall happiness, better sleep, healthier hearts, improved memories and more! Let’s try to make a goal this week that’s totally obtainable like “I’ll make it to the gym 3 times this week” or “I’m going to bring a jug of water to work with me everyday and drink the whole thing” or “I’m going to take my dog on a walk every day” or “I’m going to tell Nellie I’m joining her Des Moines, Iowa rock climbing group on March 3rd 😜😉” Try to make an OBTAINABLE goal for this week! And guess what?! Weight loss will come in due time but you won’t be stressin and obsessin over it anymore! . .. QUESTION OF THE DAY: So what will your goal be for this upcoming week??? Some times I go days (emphasis on daySSSSS) without lifting anything other then my chuncker butt (although she is actually a tiny peanut) other days I lift at the gym and hit new prs. Both days I’m winning as a mom! I have realized I need to stop wishing my body looked like that insta model because it won’t ever and that’s okay! Throwback to some weeks ago at Salt & Straw aka one of THE BEST ice cream places ever! 🍦 Almond Brittle with Salted Ganache is my favorite flavor, hands down! 😋 — This is just a reminder that you can still TREAT YOURSELF and be healthy & fit. I used to believe that I need to be a 100% clean eater to be healthy. LOL NOPE! 🙅🏻‍♀️🚫 I mean, don’t get me wrong, some people love eating clean without being tempted by all the treats, but that’s just not me. 🤷🏻‍♀️ #ilovemesometreats IF this is you too, then you’re definitely NOT alone. — Consuming “bad foods” (as deemed by society) such as sugar, saturated fats, and processed foods can STILL be a part of a healthy diet as long as you eat or drink them IN 👏🏼 MODERATION 👏🏼. As long as you’re consuming nutrient-dense foods for the most part, then you should be Gucci! 👌🏼 — No need to completely cut out treats off your diet if you know for a fact you can’t let them go. #selfawareness 😌 Remember, it’s not the certain food that’s bad, it’s the dose! • #treatyourself #healthybalancedlife #antidiet #feedyoursoul

Sunday FUNday RESTDAY 🤸🏼‍♀️ See what I did there? 😅 Sunday’s are my work, relax, homework, and cuddle time! I can always count on Sunday night cuddles with the boy, and that’s something I live for. I always go straight to the grocery store after getting off work, which of course cleans out my wallet pretty quickly. WHY is eating healthy so damn expensive, and eating like crap so cheap? 🤷🏼‍♀️ I will never understand. Currently working on a paper for my journalism class (🙌🏻) and taking shorts breaks to pet my puppies 🐾 Tomorrow is meal prep Monday - and I gotta say I’m pretty excited! Trying out some fixate recipes this week (cloud bread, turkey chili, and banana apple muffins), I’ll keep you updated on how they are! Trying to get my mindset right and really push myself this week to stay on track with my meals and give all effort to my workouts. So happy my back is finally improving as well! This week will be all about finding a solid balance between pushing myself far enough, but not far enough to re-injure myself. Cross your fingers for me 🤞🏻 I hope you’re all enjoying your Sunday!
