"The feel of worms, the feel of a caterpillar inching up their finger, the marvel of a ladybird gyrating round that finger and getting to the top of it turning this way and that and then taking flight; that’s the stuff of magic." @chris.packham
No matter how long the winter, spring is sure to follow. ✨☀️ after months of cold and gray winter days a surprise warm day rolled in reminding us not much longer. adeline asked if it was going to stay warm. probably not. But I promised her spring is coming and these warm days will be here to stay oh so soon. ☀️🙌🏼 #homeschoolcollective
We’ve been very excited to start some little gardening projects lately. 🌱 I’m not very green fingered though 😬and it’s been wonderful to have a little kit and guide come through the post every month from the wonderful @mudnbloom 😃 It’s made it all so easy!
The kids have loved it - they were captivated here watching the compost pellets expand in water! It’s the little things! Full post coming up later this week...
Have you done any gardening or planting with little ones?
Well, sort of... It can be frustrating to stand back and watch kids work things out for themselves, often making multiple mistakes in the process, but it's a valuable learning opportunity. Learning to use our bodies takes a lot of practice! 👌🏼
Failing at something simply shows you how NOT to do it next time. So let's give this tiny one a big Like for their sterling efforts getting down the mud mountain! 🙌
How many times do we need to read the research that tells us people are more creative and more productive when they go outside before we believe it? How many times before we actually let ourselves do it? And why do we need studies to tell us we should do this? We’re human beings. We belong in nature. Can we all agree it’s ok to be human long enough to take a walk? I never regret sneaking a little fresh air into my day. And when I come back, there’s more space between my ribs and in my mind. I can breathe again. Wanna join me? I’m headed out. If you go too, post a tidbit from your walk. I would love to hear what you notice. 🍃✨🍃✨
