Being a new mother often times makes you feel like a zombie. There’s little sleep involved, you no longer come first, and you’re on a constant cycle of all that is baby 👶🏽. That being said, it’s freaking hard to take care of yourself!! Dude, I literally forget to shower and change my clothes, and I actually have to set alarms to remind myself to eat 😳⏰. They said motherhood would be hard, but I seriously had no freaking idea 😅😅. Making a long story short here- I just wanted to shout out all the mommas out there. You’re doing FREAKING GREAT🤘🏽💓. Just please take care of you 👏🏽👏🏽. Throw some makeup on every once in a while to feel cute 💋, take a hot shower to relax, read a good book, find some YOU time in that crazy schedule of yours 🌻. Don’t be afraid to do something for yourself, because HEY! ☝🏽 If you don’t fill your own cup, you won’t be able to pour into others ☕️☕️. Okay, that’s enough of my rambling. Here’s a makeup selfie cause I actually felt somewhat human today 🤙🏽🦄💄✨
When you’re in the middle of a leap, a regression, a crap week, nothing seems to be of comfort. Your brain says it’s temporary and mothers have been through this before, but still the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be so far away...
We’ve just come out of two exhausting weeks. Now I’m on the other side of it, everything’s bright and fresh again. And what do you know, Axel can now bring his knees up to move forward, and he’s started properly babbling like he’s trying to talk. Maybe all that unsettledness was his brain connecting the dots to learn these new skills. 🤔
Whatever it was, yay for a break before the next milestone!
If you’re amongst the trenches at the moment, repeat this to yourself, this too shall pass. And maybe you’ll be surprised with what comes out on the other side. Bigger and better things 🙏🏻 - Brooke x
