We’ve been spending our days in Philly, my grandmother fell on Sunday & has been in the ICU ever since. She is improving- and the Lord has been so so so good to us. .
We have been going through scriptures, and it’s been such a sweet time that I’ll cherish forever. She is the best example of Christ’s hand in our lives- battling three bouts of breast cancer & had a mastectomy, living with a few lung diseases for most of her life that have left her with 45% lung capacity, always beating the life expectancy her docs have given her, and has made it 89 years on faith & Christ alone. Her body should not still be functioning, yet, she is here. And if there’s one thing about her I’ll carry with me for the rest of my days- “I should not be alive. Every year, I am told it’s my last. But, if I know one thing for sure, it’s that I am here for a reason. My only purpose here on earth is to pray; I wake up at 6am, get on my knees, and I lift up each one of my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and everyone I meet in prayer, all day long. I know that my God is good, and I know His will is perfect, but my heart aches knowing I have loved ones who do not know the Well that never runs dry. So, until my days are done, I will pray.”
A bit from her favorite hymn, Blessed Assurance, that has been ringing through her hospital room- “Watching and waiting, looking above. Filled with His goodness, lost in His love. This is my story, this is my song- praising my Savior all the day long! This is my story, this is my song- praising my Savior all the day long!”
