▪️Post 1 of 2 for fab Series #pilatesbacktobasics for gorgeous duo @pilateseverafter & @ela_tg 👌🏻✨ ▪️This is also to let you know that I am beginning a weekly Instructional post next Wednesday on my YouTube channel ‘ksjbodycontrol’ which will clearly show the breakdown of a specific requested exercise or #pilates flow ✨🤸🏻♀️✨ ▪️So do let me know of anything Pilates that needs clarifying, or flows/exercises you’d like broken down, & I shall be happy to demo AND verbalise them in 3/4 mins on YouTube instead of just 1 min on IG 🤪✔️ ▪️Now back to today’s Post, this is my contribution to Week 6 ‘Spine Stretch’, & later this week, I shall be posting Week 7 ‘Curl Up’ 💫 ▪️#spinestretch or #spinestretchforward is one of my fav Classical Pilates exercises as it’s phenomenal to open out & warm up the spine & hammies, especially prior to any ‘rolling’ exercises ✔️▪️I’ve given some visual cues here, which I hope will help with the positioning & detail of movement, with a few written pointers as follows: 🔺Ensure pelvis is neutral & weight is equally balanced between each sitting bone ✔️🔺If hammies are short/tight, soften knees, &/or sit on a raised surface such as small cushion or yoga block ✔️ 🔺This way you can gradually work at increasing hammy length without compromising pelvic position ✔️🔺Once in neutral, shoulder girdle sits squarely over pelvis, ready to engage pilates #powerhouse to support lengthened spine & frame with the stretch forward as demonstrated ✔️🔺For an additional hammy stretch, flex feet as cued in 2nd rep, but this is advanced, & only used if pelvic neutral can be maintained in long sitting ✔️▪️Do check out Sandra & Ela’s fabulous posts, it is a great series with lots of variations to try 💫▪️Don’t forget to leave requests below for chatty Pilates instruction & demos on YouTube 🤗🤸🏻♀️🤗 ▪️Will feature as many as I can so keep them coming 🙏🏻✨ ▪️Gorgeous outfit in beautiful ‘bamboo print’ provided by #ecofriendly#activewear@asquithlondon 💚▪️15% discount using code ‘ksjbodycontrol20’ 💫 #liveinmyasquith 💫▪️Their new S/S18 Collection is YUMMY!! 😍▪️Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday! 😘🙏❤
