Tinkergarten Day! My favorite day. The explorers helped some little animal friends make dens and nests to hibernate in and talked about what animals might be waking up soon. My own little bunny was more than happy to relax in his burrow, waiting for Spring.
Making a wish that we’ll find a 4-leaf clover today! 🍀💚 #tinkergarten ........
Did you know that you have a 1 in 10,000 chance in finding one? If you get lucky, keep looking nearby, because 4-leaf clovers are a genetic mutation and chances are good that you’ll find another one in the same area if that’s where the same mutated seeds sprouted!
I just recently came across this fantastic article titled “Do Yourself a Favor and Let Your Kids Play In the Rain.” It’s very fitting for our weather forecast over the next few days here. I admit, as I sat on my front porch this evening and my 2 year old shot me puppy dog eyes to convince me she should play in the rain, I briefly hesitated. She already had pajamas on and I still had some evening chores to get to. But, I quickly remembered how much joy she truly gets playing in the rain. I even remembered the joy I had as a kid when my brother and I had the opportunity to get completely soaked in everyday clothing while playing in the rain. We think that just because it’s raining we cannot get outside and enjoy nature but as the article mentions, “there’s no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing.” So I encourage you to let them put those water shoes on and splash in those puddles this weekend. ☔️😊💦 Link to article in bio.
Today we built hibernation stations. We used mud as putty for a quick second and then just jumped in the mud. Eventually our conversation became "do any animals hibernate in mud? Do pigs hibernate?" #tinkergarten#okcfamilies
