I did this sequence 3x to really warm up before heading into the freezing garage to do some strength training, then ended with a 30-min slow stretchy yoga practice this morning and it was 🙌🏻👌🏻. This resistance band (I am using the “x-heavy” black Fit Simplify band) has been a game changer in my workouts. Glute activation work like this has made me more aware of my pelvic stabilizers as well as highlighting how the glutes must work efficiently in our yoga practice in order to protect the knees, pelvis, and spine. 2018 is all about that strength/flexibility balance exploration! 💪🏻👍🏻 Perfect Saturday morning!

I dont have a photo from a few years ago, so let this be the before photo for a future photo down the road. I'm so close but so far for the splits (with right leg forward). My left leg is now considered my week leg.
This was the first time in a few years doing a sequence i found on Pinterest that specifically is for eventually being able to do the splits. Those r 2 goals of mine with my yoga practice. Being able to do splits, and being able to go upsidedown/do handstands. I guess splits will have to be first :) #yoga#yogapractice#breathe#asana#fitness#splits
