#whyimarch#womensmarchyyc ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why I March ⭐️⭐️⭐️
👧🏻 I march for my daughter. To show her we all have a voice and a responsibility to use it. The right to use it. The good fortune to use it. I want her to NOT fear speaking up if she experiences or witnesses injustice on any platform. I want her to know that should she need to voice a concern, there are countless women (& men) ready & willing to support her. Her gender & ethnicity should never hold her back. I march to show her though, that should that happen, I’ll be fighting side by side with her to achieve what she deserves, EQUAL RIGHTS. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why I March ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🧑🏻 I march for my son. To show him he is surrounded by strong women. This young man has grown up confused by the idea of any & all prejudice because it does not exist in our home. Now he’s in high school & witnessing that unfortunately that’s not the case for everyone. I march to show him that we can fight for what’s right. Whether it affects us or not; if it moves us, we can still show support.
I march to hopefully inspire my son to one day find & love a strong individual. One he will willingly & lovingly support during their own battles. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why I March ⭐️⭐️⭐️
👩🏻 I march for my mother. Who has never marched. Never spoke up. Never fought to the end. Why? Because she didn’t know how. Didn’t know she could. I march to hopefully show her that it’s never too early or too late to speak up, to stand up, to show up. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Why I March ⭐️⭐️⭐️
🙋🏻♀️ I march for EQUALITY, BALANCE, & JUSTICE. I march to honour those who fought in the past. I march for those who currently need the support. I march for the future fighters & advocates who will look back and see a history of strength.
