When life gives you lemons... BTW that lemon was about a size of my head 😱 I found it between takes of music video shoot last year.
Alright, now it’s time for lemonade. I just received pictures from collaboration I did a YEAR ago! This problem is so common I just feel like I need to spread some awareness. So many photographers just don’t feel obligated to provide pictures to the team members after TFP (time for pictures) collaboration. I feel like we should call it TFN (time for nothing). Was that personal issues, heavy business, your mood or results just didn’t meet your expectations, whatever. It is disrespectful and irresponsible behavior. It affects your reputation and your business. If you can’t follow those simple rules please pay everyone for their time. No questions will be asked. Some people promise so much it’s unbelievable!
So I began requesting contracts and releases signed on those sets because obviously promises cannot be trusted. And you know, reliable people have no issues with that. Do you want protection - here you go. Now I got much more spare time because I don’t waste it shooting TFN. Sometimes I’m being insulted for not agreeing to shoot TFP. Sometimes we do quick shoot on backstage between takes and they ask for email to send me pictures and then nothing happens for months and suddenly they offer to do TFP. Seriously? You know, I didn’t find myself in a garbage can. I will not put up with BS for network sake. Not to mention, there is more people who owe me pictures, but it was about 1,5 years ago and I’m not calling names, so... if you recognize yourself shame on you!
I’m feeling endless respect and gratitude to those who are truly professional and own their words. .
